    X3 New Price?

Is this the X3? Didn't it used to be more? 20 percent off this = pretty cheap.

wow. I have been debating what my next machine is going to be for a while. X3, BF20, ZX45 - at that price it looks like it may be the X3

    Talking Scored!!

I ordered the 93885 X3 with the 25% off coupon over the holidays and called the store to see if they are going to do a price adjustment since the mill still has not arrived. They said yes so I got the X3 for $563.40. Now that is an amazing DEAL! YA.

#$%@#$#, I'd have gone with the X3 instead of the 44991 for that price.

Don't get too excited. That's the emasculated harbor Freight X3. Compare the travels to the Grizzly.

    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=93885
    HF 12.875 x 5.75 x 8.625

    http://www.grizzly.com/products/Mill-Drill/G0463
    Grizzly 15.875 x 5.75 x 14.78

The table is shorter, and the column is shorter. If that's all you want, then it's a good deal. But if you're expecting a normal X3, you will be disappointed.

The table difference is obvious from the pictures I linked to. The column is not as clear. If you look closely you can see that there's more space between the power cord and the base of the mill, and more space between the controls and the power cord.

I have read several posts from people stating that the images and specs on the HF site are wrong (from an earlier run of X3s) and that it is indeed the same as the Grizzly version.

If that's the case, then that is a hell of a deal.

    Lightbulb Identical Mills

They are identical mills from the same factory.

Edit - Sorry one is red the other is green.

Wow... I looked earlier this week and the price was def. not this low, I was going to get the new grizzly bf20... this prices makes that a harder decision.

I may try to get over there tomorrow and verifiy if the price is the same 'in store' (site says it can be different) If so, time to find a pop sci mag and order one (yay tax returns)

remember the phrase, "you get what you pay for"
looks like HF is scraping the bottom of the factory floor to get these prices.
just might need more fiddling on our end to get them usable.
that or selling off inventory to make room for a new model.
there are reasons for big price drops.
the X1 is also marked down quite a bit.
    get em while you can.

maybe because they are making room for the new machines with the new(er) brushless motors?

also what is the diff between these two mills then:

'discontinued', btw. (I figured thats what the .87 meant) So anyway, they didn't have any and acted like they couldn't order one... didn't really press the issue tho, seems like their are probably some somewhere... same deal on the x1 btw. Guess I may get the new grizzly anyway.

Those are two different beasts there, one is a round column one a square
I am on the verge of purchasing mine but I think I will stick with the grizzly
then again is QC worth nearly 50% savings?

It depends on your priorities. Do you want to spend a lot of time tweaking the mill into a superior tool? Or do you just want to plug it in, attach your steppers, and start making chips?

For some, the mill is the project. For others, it's the tool.

If you want the mill to be the tool, then spending the extra money for better quality is worth it.

    I just ordered one.
The local store could not order it for me as it is on backorder. (44 of them on backorder, now 45) I called HF and ordered over the phone.
    95883: 699.87 (no 20% off)(http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/...o?itemid=93885 )
    Shipping: 86.99
    Tax: 61
848 to my door. not bad.
    Liftgate charges: ???

Anyone know what it will cost for the shipper to take it off the truck and put in on my driveway or in garage?

Quoted shipping time 20 days. I've been looking to get into this for years so 20 days will go by quick!!
