I have a really cool 2 foot by four foot 8030 extruded machine with rack and pinion and dual drives on the x and acme 5 starts on the Y and Z. It will cut 3/4 MDF in a single pass.

I would love to see that in action. I have a Converted SX3 mill that I use, but I am about to build a plasma/route table that will be 4x8. Just about to get more concrete going into my shop so I will have aplace to put it.

If you don't mind, how much did the extrusions set you back and what size did you use for that?

I used 8030 extrusions, I think it cost me like 1500.00 bucks for the alum. It is a sturdy machine. You are welcome to come by and see it work anytime you like.

I sent Admin a help request about contacting everyone that has posted in this thread to see if we can have a meet and greet? I know there are a couple that have already mentioned it but if everyone that is interested would post here it might help out some. I travel that way a good bit. But I don't know anyone there that is into Hobby CNC. I usually go there for hunting.

Looks to be more than 10 years since anyone posted in Arkansas. Everyone give up or move away?
I am on Bull Shoals Lake and should complete my current build by end of January. Hopefully, the 4th and 5th axis functional before end of March.
