    switching screens?

I was watching a YouTube video yesterday, it was of someone using Mach3 to route a piece of Walnut. Nothing too special until he switched screen in the middle of routing, I was shocked. If I tried that my work piece would be ruined, as anytime I have tried to switch screens while Mach3 was cutting my router would stall. I asked my buddy if his machine did the same and he said yes. We both would like to know how to switch screens without Mach3 stalling?

Get a faster PC. Also, there was a test version of Mach3 that let you manipulate the toolpath display while the machine was running with no ill effects. You may have seen that version.

But I think the faster PC may be all you need, preferably a dual core or better. I've never run a machine on it, but on this machine, a dual core, I can switch screens very quickly, but on my machine PC, it takes about a full second to switch screens.

Thanks for the reply Gerry. Here are the specs on the computer I'm using to run my router.
IBM Think Centre SFF (Small Form Factor) 3.0GHz with 2GB RAM. The OS is WinXP with sp3. I use this site http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm to strip the OS down to the bare minimum.
The only thing which I'm thinking could cause a problem is the onboard video. I'm not sure what the added overhead is for the MachBlue screen set is. Normally my router runs just fine with a kernel speed of 45000 if I just leave it on the screen it starts on.

My aqua screen takes about 5 times longer to load than the standard screen, due to all the bitmaps that need to load. MachBlue may be similar.
