PS A little WD-40 will reduce cutting forces and make your patato peeler last longer. Or, you could up your speeds by going to a carbide insert potato peeler too!

Using the tool post and insert I'd end up losing a lot of the apple (but i would be perfectly round though).

The wife said no cutting oil so we'll just have to replace the cutting edge more often - can't avoid it.
