    It's getting there....motors are turning

Well, I fired up my future plasma table today.
Actually, I just ran two of the motors, but for me it was a milestone.
Hooked up the breakout board, geckos and had the motors sitting on the garage floor. Ran a simple square pattern in mach2 demo version and repeatedly watched in amazement as the motors ran one way then the other.
My wife just rolled her eyes.
Now I just have to mount the motors to the table.
I still have no clue how to hook up the limit switches so I'll have to keep reading more cnczone.
    Wish me luck.

    Hey Johnt,

    Hey Johnt how exciting!

I too am making a plasma table. It is in the EDM Plasma Laser forum, have a look at it. It is the link that is the building journal of plasma tables, if you know what i mean.

I have just this weekend put the bearings and rails on. I will put the photos up later on when i get the camera.

You said that u have used gecko's: What motors have you use and what gecko drivers. Can you please list the parts that u have used to make the motors spin. i.e. drivers software etc. How much has all this cost?
