Question pen plotter drawing help in the midlands UK

    Hi,
i am new here ..i have created some work on a computer..basically some very detailed drawings

I am looking to get them drawn out by a pen plotter..i have tried various local companies [i live in Derby UK]...but am constantly informed that pen plotters are obsolete!

if anyone knows of a way of producing some work like this in the midlands could you let me know

    thanks

    Hi Mark

Pen plotters have been replaced by large format inkjet printers. I have one I use nearly every day for drawings and the results are very good.

Why does it have to be a pen plotter? Have you tried plotting it on an inkjet?

    hi Simon

Its actually some artwork ..I really wanted it to have the feeling of a real drawing as opposed to a print, I am assuming an inkjet plotter is more like a print?..maybe i am wrong

    regards

It would print just like a normal inkjet but on a larger scale.

If you have an inkjet you could print a portion of the whole drawing at the scale you want to see what it would be like.

We use a variety of vinyl cutters to draw templates on paper using a pen- it's simply a case of swapping the cutting blade for a pen holder and viola.

You could very likely pick up your very own HP7550 from e-bay for very little money. I have one that was at my door (yes, in the U.S) for less than $50.
I have three pen plotters operational. They are NOT obsolete.

The print effect is tangible! (it's all on the pens) Even rapido-graph!
