    DIY Rong Fu 31 CNC

Hi, I'm pretty new to CNC zone and thought I'd say Hi. I see a lot of builds and thought I'd throw mine into the mix just for fun. I'm running 1200 oz steppers.
Mach 3, ball screws, Easson DRO (I really like). I also added a dremel mount for engraving, and a router setup using an R8 spindle attachment. I use the same computer to run this and my DIY CNC plasma cutter. Next on my list is the Birmingham Lathe YCL 1236. I am not going to do the motor conversion, just the X and Z because I don't believe it's worth it to do it since I don't do a lot of thread cutting. Here's some pics.

That's great. It's a great machine, I would concentrate on the square type columns instead of the round. I have not had any problems except forgetting to tighten the lock down bolts. It's very solid and I've made a lot of parts with no problems. Check out www.roadstercycle.com to see the motorcycle parts that I create with it. The square stock would eliminate the forgetful equation.
    Good luck.
