How about trailer wiring for steppers?

I'm considering my options for extending my cables from my steppers to the Geckos.
It occurred to me to use boat trailer wiring. It's already harnessed together and can be bought in bulk. Even comes with connectors that could probably be transitioned to "proper cnc connectors".
    Any thoughts?

thats what i am using . 4 wire flat 16 guage to 4 vexta pk296 motors. the runs are approx 25 ft.its cheap, readily available , and the connectors work great. 3 years working plasma table, 16'x6' . the plasma torch cable has broken from flexure but the trailer cable, because of laying flat , has stood up well.
