When Homing Axis changes direction but doesnt STOP

I would like some help, I am setting up a new machine with Mach3. When homing the axis, the Y axis moves to the home switch, when it strikes it (the Y axis home LED comes on in the Diagnostics) the axis slowly retracts away. When the home switch is released the axis stops momentarily (and the LED goes out), then continues to move slowly away from the home switch without stopping until it ends the far side hard limit switch. The machine coordinate DOES NOT Zero itself.

Can anyone suggest a suggestion? I do not know what else to try?

I am using a Galil DMC4143 Ethernet Controller. It is all set up as per the "Galil Plugin for Mach3" Instructions. The end and limit switches all work fine.
As I am using an ethernet controller the Port#1 does not seem to be used in Ports&Pins.
In Motor home/soft limits I have set the "Auto Zero" and have tried changing the "Reversed" and "Home Neg"
In "Ports and Pins" the Inputs for X and Y Homes are all correct and the LEDs in Diagnostics switch on and off correctly.
As the Y axis does not finish homing the X axis does not start.

When Homing Axis changes direction but doesnt STOP

I solved the problem, in the Galil plugin in the 'Axis Setup' tab, I had the "Index
Pulse" checked. I unchecked it and it now works fine. Thanks for the advice.
    spot on.
    cheers
