Hehehe I just found I could save a lot of wrist work by chucking the part I needed tapped onto the Sherline rotary table, write some G-code to make it slow cut, spin back out fast, spin back where it was fast, then slow cut again. Repeat until desired depth is reached.

You just gonna put the tap in the handle and "hold on" for dear life.

I'm sure it'll work with the tap in the Sherline table too... it's just that my round stock with a central hole does belongs in the chuck since I can't readily hold onto that by hand.
