Cool thanks I'm actually considering buying your board (the MK2), would be great for my machine.

New, 4 axis version of Mk2 is available.

    • 100 kHz maximum step frequency
    • 3 digital outputs
    • 12 us minimum pulse width
    • manual jog inputs for all axes
    • limit inputs
    • 4 inputs
    • DB25 connector (simulates PC LPT parallel port for easy connection to existing systems)
    • screw terminal connectors for all inputs & outputs

Hi, I'm rather new to cnc but tempted to build a hot wire cutter and/or router.

Your controller seems to be quite good but at this time there's one thing I wonder about. "100 kHz maximum step frequency", is that per axis or in total for all?

With Mk2 9 axis controller all 9axis can step at 100kHz at same time.

    Thank you for your answer.

Since you explicitly state that the Mk2 9 axis controller can step at 100kHz with all axes at once, can I interpret this as that the Mk2 4 axis controller is not able to do this?

Or can both Mk2 controllers step at 100kHz with all axes at once? ( Nine respectively four of course. )

My apologies if I misunderstood your answer or am difficult to understand myself. English isn't my native language but I try to leave as little room as possible for misunderstandings.

Mk2/4 can do the same but it only has outputs for 4 axes. Difference between Mk2 and Mk2/4 is only in board layout. Internaly they are the same.

Each axis can step at 100kHz.
If all 9 axis move at maximum speed then this is 9 * 100kHz.

    Pendant compatibility

Hi Andrej, I just purchased te following from Probotix, and because I need pendant capability I think I must have gotten the wrong board:

X3 CNC Conversion Stepper Motor Driver Kit - X3 CNC Conversion Stepper Motor Driver Kit

I purchased the above with the ready to run, and USB board and software options. My questions are:

    1. Am I out of luck with the pendant mpg without the 9 axis board, and if so:

    2. Does Probotix carry that board or do I need to order from you directly? it doesn't seem to be on their website?
    3. What is required to switch out the boards.... Given the above kit?

You need Mk2 board to use MPG pendant.
    Probotix does not have it.
You'll need to modify 10wire IDC cables like this:

I run Windows 7 with VM Fusion5 on my Macbook Pro 15", Mavericks.. I have the MK2/4 board and everything works. No issues.
The hardware is great, the software superb and you get Kroko as your support . What more could you want.
I love it. The more I work with it and the deeper I dig, the better it gets.

I also used the system with a Win8 tablet PC running it off the micro USB port. Works a treat.

The only thing I could put my finger on was the screen. It can not be customised like in Mach3. So I thought. But I found out it can be arranged in a way to suit any needs. It is very intuitive.

There is a lot of "brain" behind this system. great job, Kroko
