    anilam crusader mill servo problems

hi, i have an anilam crusader control on a kondia mill, problem is when i try to switch servos on the y axis jumps about 8mm in the minus direction before tripping out very quickly. i have tryed swapping axis boards (westamp) made no difference, so i swapped the x and y motor and scale cables (machine thinks x is y and vice versa) and still the same thing happens. so i conclude the problem is in the y motor. If i disconnect the y axis scale lead the machine powers up but the y axis creeps at about 1 ipm till it hits limit switch (or i stop it). my thinking is something has failed in the servo motor.
So if someone with more knowlege than me could advise on what to do next it would be greatly appreciated. regards Tom
