Very useful and an interesting design, but unless the bar is being fed in by the unit and not pulled in by the tooling, (not apparent either way from the video) it's not a bar feeder.

I hope you plan on putting some guards around it.

What is your idea of high rpm?

    RPM 3500

It has been run at 3500 rpm and it should do 6000 rpm with roller every 4 inches it does not vibrate, I have run this one about 1000 hours and no wear
so we plan on making these for six foot bars

Thanks you for checking the Bar Feeder

    Adding pusher to bar feeder

Yes to be a bar feeder it needs a pusher and that can be added with a end of bar detector and feed hold or reset circut to stop the CNC at the end of
    the stock

I would not like to be near it with a 12' bar running at 6000 rpm and the BARFEEDER supported by a single bracket to the machine.

How do you accommodate different size bars?

That's what I was thinking. The machines I've ran all have feed tubes, for the stock material.

Do you have a complete setup for each bar diam. ?

    Adjustment

The rollers adjust from 1.375 down .375 by rotating a collar and locking in place or there is Type 2 a driven tube that uses liners to center hex or square stock. and for now I am working on 6 foot units.
The amount of power used to rotate the unit is very small barly notice on
    spindel load .
And a 12 foot unit will have a lot of support and guards pro built by our shop
This unit is to demo what the patent office wants to see.
And Thanks for checking this out

A 12' bar sticks out about 9' from the end of the machine and a 12' pusher is needed to push this bar full length; therefore you need somewhere around 24' past the end of the machine to fit all this in. You cannot bring the pusher in until the machine has stopped and cannot restart the machine until it has been retracted so pushing is going to be very slow.

I will agree that this is an innovative approach but having had experience with barfeeders that could handle 12' bars on manual machines and smaller feeders on CNC machines that can advance the bar with the spindle running I am dubious about the practicality and potential market size.

Looks interesting. Do you have any more pictures or videos? Can you show how the bar was advanced in your video ?

    Very Nice !
