There's a possible re-work job my shop might get from one of our custumers to re-port the face and o-ring gland for a threaded hole, only problem is the parts are carbon fiber wrapped pressure cylinders, because of this the cylinders are no longer straight and when clamped the hole does not sit perpindicular to the spindle.
We have a probe to calculate how far off and in what direction the already machined face is in but without a 5-axis machine to run the spindle along the "newly found axis" I see no way of remachining these.
I know it's a long shot but is there such a thing as a 5 axis live spindle attachment? or a 5 axis indexible spindle attachment where the machine rather thant the operator does all the work?
