    Low cost machining centre retrofit

    Hello all.
I have two Cincinnati 5VC750 maching centres and I have just started a low cost (or at least I hope so) retrofit on one of them. I will keep you updated with progress and cost. It is a 3 axis machine but I want to implement 4th axis. I will buy a used CNC rotary table, and I got one at hand at a fair price. Hopefully the whole project will be less than 10000USD.

I am not able to do this on my own so I`ve hired a company in Germany to do the retrofit. I`ll do the mechanical bits and the german company does electrics, electronics and automation.

I`ll only keep the servomotors and spindle motor (and of course the machine itself), servodrives and CNC controller will be new. I will have a lot of boards for Acramatic900MC available + Simoreg servodrives so if in need let me know!

    Regards
    John

I would be interested in knowing what control & drives they will be using, if you are using the same motors I assume they will be analogue control.

    Hello Al.
I will be posting a complete materials list when the machine is up running. Thanks for your interest!
