    CNC Software question

I have a friend in the US that made something using eMachineShop software. It will export out to a dxf file file and save in its own *.esp file. The dxf file will not open in anything I have (AutoCAD SolidWorks QCad).

Has anyone ever tried converting this file so they can open it in AutoCAD before or SolidWorks? If so please help???

I want to see if I can CNC the part he made. But need to open it in my CAD program first.

    THanks!!

Emachineshop has it's own code and I don't think their CAD software is supposed to be a "free" CAD program. It's just so you can send them your drawing...that's it. They don't have any interest to make sure that their file types can be exported to any other program.

I'd be suprised if you could find any other program that would open one of their files.

If you can try Solid works, or Corel draw, those programs are about as import friendly as it gets.

Thanks - Yeah I tried even a few other apps. I figure the DXF file, anything should be able to open but they can't. So not sure.
