Well, we've had alot of work done on this machine, the controller died recently and we had a new one installed. Unfortunatly we spent about $2500.00 to have fanuc come out and tune the servos before the controller took a dump.

So......

in the interest in saving money, I've volunteered to manually re-do the work that was done before. (The backup of parameters we had didn't work with the new upgraded controller)

We are getting 'ripples' when it goes around corners, especially inside corners, and looks almost as if it's cutting a series of small lines rather than one arc. (No, the G61 isn't on). It 'looks' like it's traveling smoothly, but upon closer inspection, you can feel the spots where it seems to be having problems.

The fanuc guy worked almost exclusively on the parameter that sets the time/distance for arcs. (can't remember the number(s) right now).

My question is: Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what sorts of things did you do to fix it?

Also, any good advice on which parameters to look at/how to change them would be very helpful!

thanks much!
