    Question EC1600 - Renishaw TS27r

Having looked at a few pics of EC1600's I think I'm right in saying that all the toolsetting probes are on 'the far side' of the table. X+ end.

Our's is on the X- end.
I've caught the stylus a few times and gotten away with it, its only time before myself or one of the guys does break it.

How many others are like this?
I'm wondering why they differ? or are people moving them due to the above reason?

We have a EC-1600 with the probe on the X- side and a VF-3 with it mounted on the X+ side. Why I don't know!! Just the way they came in.

    Hi!
All 5 of our VF8's + 1 VF6 have the probe mounted at X+, like I said the EC1600 has it at X-.
I'm guessing its because from the 'front' they are on the same side. (although we try not to refer to a 'front' on the EC, being as the front is the back......!).

Is yours on the EC cabled? or wireless?

We are not overly pleased with the gaps in the cabinet, the operator gets dripped on like mad if you're doing any drilling. The split in the doors being directly inline with the spindle is, imho anyway, a design fault. they should have made the doors offset. we get coolant coming through there too!

Are you happy with the machine? what spec have you got?

    We got;
    30 (31) pos t/c
    1000psi tsc
    full 4th axis

I'm getting used to the new layout, and the ips.
Am toying with getting our late type vf8s upgraded to new style too.

Our EC-1600 is cabled and the VF-3 is wireless
We have full 4th axis and 30 tools.
We are quite happy so for.

See the thread below "Ordered a VF-4 today" for some pics of our EC-1600
