Hi all,
I'am tring to mill a square with rounded corners on a 4th axis by using a endmill. For example a 2" square with a 1/4 fillet from a rond stock.
The way i wanted to mill is that it first mills (from Y1.75) the flat part untill the center of the endmill reaches the entitie of the fillet (Y-1.75) then mills the fillet by using the Y,Z and A axes. So when reached the fillet midpoint the axis's coordinates would be A 45.0, Y 0.0, and Z +..... and the end of the fillet A90.0, Y-1.75, and Z0.0 and so on for the whole square. Is this possible with mastercam.
I do not want the A axis to rotate when milling on a flat part. This should be done with the Y-axis. I've been trying with the 4 axis rotary toolpath and even with a ballnose cutter the A axis rotates on flats. Have used the Rotary axis with VMC 3 axis but no luck.
I am using X2 MILL LEVEL 3. I have all Mikes cd's and Mastercam books and they don't cover what I'am posting.
Please need some help. Thanks
