AutoCAD LT 9, can it import/export DXF?

    Hi All,

I have been pulling my hair out trying to find out what new version of AutoCAD can import and export DXF files. I know that AutoCAD 14 could do it but when I read the specifications for purchasing a new seat it doesn't say anywhere what files it can take in and put out.

    Thanks,

    Andy

All versions of AutoCAD can handle .dxf files. Autodesk created the .dxf format.

    Hi Gerry,

Yes I know that all of the older versions easily handled them. I should have given more info. I am worried about the new tactic of selling software. I am worried that AutoCAD LT V9 doesn't state directly that it can import and export DXF files and that it might be an add on or force you to upgrade to regular AutoCAD.

So does AutoCAD LT V9 import and export dxf's? I am not going to be dissappointed if I buy the software and it does not let me do that, correct?

    Thanks,

    Andy

It does say "read/write" to past versions of AutoCAD here.

One way to find out for sure is to download the free 30 day trial.
