    Bridgeport EZ-Trak,to buy or not?

Hello, first time user here.I have a chance to replace my 1965 step pulley bridgeport with a 1991 EZ-Trak 2 axis mill. The mill has a recently replaced spindle, power drawbar,Bijur spray mist and a South western industries controller. It is in very good working condition, asking price $5,500.My question is will i be buying an obsolete cnc system that i cannot get components for? This is a one program at a time controller. The owner tried to obtain software to converse with a computer, but gave up.There is an RS232 port on the back. Can anybody help me with some information Thanks Brian.

    Are you the retrofitting type?

If the machine is mechanically sound, it may not be such a big risk, if you are willing to retrofit it to a PC eventually. It surely would be nice to get it talking to a PC first though. Heck my old 1980 Bandit could download and upload to a PC. As a matter of fact, that's the reason I bought my first PC
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)
