Starting in the middle of a program.Old control.

    Hi Everyone !

I am hoping some one has some advice for me.

I am programming/set-up an older Matsuura MC-760V machine with Yasnac MX-1 Controls.

I cant seem to figure out how to advance the program without running it from the start. I have M01 in place and can get it to option stop for me.

But if I edit back to the M01 and try to start , I get an error that I didn't reset. Then if I hit reset, of course, the program goes back to the start.

Anyone know how to advance the program on an older machine like this without running it from the start?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't have any idea about your control but can you put an N address were you want to start? All the controls I work with you can start from an N line. N10, N20, N30 ect.

    Like so many problems...

Like so many problems it was actually a pretty easy deal to figure out.

I would advance the tool to the spindle but could not get the programs to start up mid way.

The issue was the secondary tool changer arm.

This particular machine puts a tool "on deck" in an intermediate arm before tool change, and thus calls up the tool much sooner than a more modern machine.(The hiccup I was hitting is that it calls up the next tool almost immediately after the first tool in a program.)

Once I figured out what the M29 intermediate arm command was doing in the GCODE I was able to figure it out.

Now I can start mid program with a tool in the intermediate arm or in the spindle.

Some searching and browsing in the CNC-Zone helped prod me a bit to find this answer.

BUT, I'm claiming this one for my myself !

    Thanks CNC-Zone !
