    Steppers Stalling, Microstepping & Acceleration/Velocity

I'm having issues setting up my machine and I'm getting frustrated. Here is my machine specs:

4 Axis CNC Stepper Motor TA8435H - from here ebay
3-260 OzIn 4-Wire Stepper Motors from Probotix
14 pitch lead screws at 1:1 gear ratio
    30V Power supply
    1/8 micro-stepping

I followed the instructions that came with the driver board but I have never been able to find out how to calculate the acceleration/velocity or find a value that works for my machine. When I job it around the motors with stop and make a loud buzzing noise which I assume the are stalling. Are they trying to go too fast, not enough power or something else causing that. They aren't binding or anything.

Also, not sure what to set the micro-stepping at on my driver board. Is that affecting the stalling? My machine is no precision instrument so not sure really what the micro-stepping is but I assume it makes it more precise or takes more steps.

    Any help would be appreciated

You won't get much speed with a 14 tpi leadscrew. Probably about 30ipm max.

What are your accel and velocity settings?

I haven't fired up my machine in a while and I think my pc is disconnected. I'll try and get it fired up tomorrow and get those values. Not really looking for a lot of speed just want it smooth and reliable. Got to get rid of it stalling.

It could also be a resonance issue. Does it sound like mine in this video?

No doesn't sound like that, I'll record it tomorrow. The motor stops and makes a buzzing sound like it is trying to move but can't, seems to only happen when going fast jog. Slow jog doesn't do it.
