    3M and thread milling?

Will a Fanuc 3M control be able to process a 3axis helical move like thread milling?

I am hoping to buy a machine with a 3M controller. The current owner doesn't know if it can since he has never tried it.

    Thanks,

You can use G02/G03 in XY plane with Z deep. There is an option bit for 3 axis simultaneous if your machine can not. I'll check this bit later if you need.

    Thanks Jung,

No need to check for me. Looks like I waited a few hours to long to buy the machine. Someone else bought it. If I come across another 3M controller, may I contact you?

I have a 3M, and as far as I can tell it will only move in 2 axis at a time. If you find a way to make do a helical move, I would love to know how as well!
