    File loading issue

I have a 1995 Milltronics Partner 1 with the latest software update. I believe I followed the instructions on how to set up the network. I have talked with Milltronics about this issue, but I have no resolution. Here is my problem. When I want to load a program into my machine I do the following:

    F8 Program
    F3 File
    F1 Load
I get error 302: No program to select from. Press esc to continue.
Bottom left of Main screen shows P:\
    I press ESC
    then press ESC again
    F1 Load
    F1 Load again
    Now it shows programs
Bottom left of main screen shows P:\ ---> C:\Parts\

What is causing the error 302?

It would help to know what controller you are using? Not clear on what you mean by “software update”? Is it a centurion V? Or has it been updated to a Centurion 6 or 7 or a hard drive added? Does your machine have a floppy drive?

On my old Partner 1 with a Centurion V, if I try what you’re doing my machine tries to read the floppy drive. If the drive is empty I’ll get the 302 error. If you have it connected to a network and it sounds like you do, make sure the path to your .ncc files is correct. My machine is not connected to any network, so I can’t help you there.

    Thanks for the reply

You are correct, that the machine is networked in. When I first bought the machine the parameters were corrupt and I sent the computer to Milltronics, paid $1,800 for the upgrade that included the following:

    Floppy drive
    Single BD. Computer,
    64M Ram 64MCF
    Loaded 5.35 OP Software w/networking,
UP dated Firmware to version 2.54
    Loaded Parameters, etc, etc

So not sure if my Centurion 5 is now a 6 or 7?

I believe I followed the networking instructions that came with the update.

    Thanks for the help.

It appears it may be looking for the floppy drive first. when you hit escape it will bring up dive menus. this can be changed in dos in your networking but I don't recall how at the moment.

Your control is still a Centurion 5. It has been upgraded to a single board computer rather than using a sim disk. The path can be edited in the path.dat file. You can edit this file in dos or using the cnc. From the main menu, press F8 (PROG), F1(TEXT), F4(ANY) and type in PATH.DAT. This may bring up the file, otherwise you may have to type in C:\RAM\PATH.DAT. You want to make sure that the remote files are set to P:
