    Upgrade??

I have a fanuc 0M-d on a hardinge vmc1000. I work exclusively with aluminium so i need high speed and feed. This controller is not desingn for high feed machining, no lookahead. I must put exact stop at each cornering to respect programmed tool path or dramatically slow down. I wonder if changing controller for a more recent could be a good option.

What you need to know is the limitations due all to the controller or will motor/load inertia
Problems surface if a replace with a modern controller? without recalculating the motor sizing etc.

I have a Hardingve VMC 600 with an OM-d control. How fast can you run these controls before you start running into trouble.??

    Thanks, Pete

    also interested in upgrade

I have a zero C on a standard 3 axis mill (Leadwell) with AC Drives, I've checked into third party stuff but it always gets down to also replacing the drives too. So at the IMTS show fanuc introduced a affordable version of the zero, as a direct replacement, the 0I-D. My Question is what is the Price range of this product?????????
No more memory problems increased G-code options, Fast BUT WHAT ARE WE TALKIN ON PRICE???????????????????????????????????
