    Parentheses on 16t controller

    Hi all:
We just got up and running with a Star Swiss screw machine with a Fanuc
16t controller. My question is how to put comments in my programs at the controller keypad. The keypad has all the alphabet characters but no ( ).
If I type them on the laptop and upload them there is no problem, but it would be nice to do this at the machine as well.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    Rich

When a small keyboard is used, characters [ and ] are:
    0: Used as [ and ].
    1: Used as ( and ).
    3204#2
The input character extension function is:
    0: Not used.
1: Used. (When a small keyboard is used, the three characters (, ), and @ can be entered using
    soft keys.)

    No param 3204!

Looked at it and found parameters up to 3203 then jumps to 3210.
    Any other thoughts on this?
    Thanks again

You might try to use the shift key and the +Z and -Z on the axis control pad, I know we are not using the same machines but I had the same problem on a takamaz using a 16t controller
