    leveling???

My machine table has a banana shape on X axis (about .08mm on 1000mm) and a constant slope on Y axis(about .05mm on 500mm). Could it be a leveling issue?? It is a hardinge VMC1000.

Is your turkite still good? What do the ways look like? You may have to install hold down bolts & "pull" it back into spec.

In any machine installation,The 1st thing that is done is leveling the machine.Eliminate that error to start with. If you are shaped like a bannana you may not be supported enough in the middle of the machine. Use a precision level .0005 per foot increments. When machines are built, they are built level and aligned from there.
check it out and good luck
