Has anyone used thompson machine? I was thinking of buying his 9x20 lathe conversion kit but I get no response from there e-mail site.

    Unhappy No Luck Either

Just tried myself (one month after your post).
    One email bounced back.
    Another remains unanswered.
Since no one here responded and the emails are unanswered, I guess it's safe to assume that this is an inactive business.

I'd be extremely wary and cautious dealing with someone who is too busy to even answer his emails. Do a forum search and see what comes up.

Thanks, yes I am concerned. I do not see anything else out there worthwhile.
Thanks for the heads up, Chrissi

    Purchase fell through

Hoped to get the kit way back in 2008???
    All went dead.
Tried again a few months ago.
Used both email addresses. Still nothing. Gave up.
Pretty pictures and not having to go through all the grief of setting everything up from scratch kept me hopeful.
When I'm finished converting my mill to CNC I'll tackle the 9x20.

    Regards,
    Frank

I know this is an old thread ..... I am new to this forum ........ but does anyone make/sell an X2 mini mill conversion kit (X Y Z ball screws and Nema 23 motor mounts)? I am looking for either well known 'plans' or a 'kit'. Preferably a kit or plans with the Z Axis screw that is located in the middle/front of the vertical column.

I like the CNC fusion kit except the Z Axis ball-screw and nut mount, because it is off to the side and covers the gib screws. I tried to ask for a price on everything (X Y Z) except the Z axis 'motor/nut mounts' and have not gotten a response. So I am assuming they are not interested in selling that configuration.

I tried contacting Thompson Machine but the email I sent was returned. The Thompson kit looked very good except it seems he no longer makes them?

Looks like a great and busy Forum!!

Any help or info will be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Edit: I just realized this is the lathe forum, Sorry about that, I will re-post my question in the mill section. But if you have any info on this, please post it anyway
