    Standalone Driver

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well!
I have been looking for sometime now for a standalone stepper driver.
I have a need for some Ag equipment to be able to drive a stepper, and reverse it.
I know some can be adapted but I would just like to build one from a kit or purchase one already built.
    Thanks for any help!!

I assume you mean no PC, but you didn't say beyond that if you needed position control, forward reverse.....

Thanks for the reply pminmo! No Computer. The enviroment is wet and very
undesirable. Yes I need to vary the speed via pot, forward / reverse, and stop start.
    Thanks again for any help!

Look at this thread on my bulletin board: http://pminmo.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.p...&highlight=555

The 555 circuit is essentially what you need.

What size steppers? I have been working on a 297/298 board with power supply, step and dir. signals, but it is 24VDC @ 3 amp. Hope to test it this weekend.
Let me know if this fits your needs.

I have not decided yet! Been trying to find something that would work stand alone, then proceed. Basically I need to run a arm back and forth with the ability to vary the speed and also the degrees of rotation.
Thanks for the reply!! Let me know how your testing goes!
