    Newbie questions

    Hi all, have just bought a small Chinese manual mill to learn some machining, couple of queries;
    1, the deck has no drain holes in it, is it possible to drill and tap a drain hole with a hose down to a coolant pump or is coolant not required?
    Depending on the materiel?
    Cheers, Lance

    Coolant holes should be placed in the center of the open pockets on either end of the table. 1/4" Pipe will do. Drill hole to where you are slightly lower than the bottom of the pockets that will ensure everything draining out.
    All comments made are my opinion!

    It sounds like you are working towards a CNC flood system? In which case it would be easier to drain from the edges of the table...

    If you are not CNC, you could mist, or just apply your cutting fluid manually.
