M-code been defined by machine tool builder (MTB) and doesn't depend on the type of CNC.
First of all, find the "chuck open/close" solenoid in schematic diagram and output of the PLC, that turn it (solenoid) on. Then look at the ladder listing, which has to be enclosed in your electrical manual or look it on the CRT and find the line with this output. In this line you will see the reference on the M-code, you have to use.

It's needed to find the physical output in ladder, e.g. Y0049.3 (on my Tsugami NP32) and in this line the M-code is (on my machine M11).

Hi, why don't you use the symbolic representation of ladder. It's more convenient, to my mind. BTW, what types of Fanuc controls do you use? I use 6M, 10T and 0TB. I suggest to exchange information with each other.
    Regards
