    Hello Richard,
What sort of machine are you talking about. An MDF based machine, steel/ally construction, or other.
Most people tend to build their own to suit their budget and needs. You can find CNC Router machines on Ebay , but the prices start at about $4,000 and go up depending on size.
I suppose it boils down to what you want the machine to be capable of, and what you are prepared to spend.
I have a machine for sale at the moment which I'm asking $2,500.
That includes everything (see my post below). Unfortunately I'm down in Tassie.

    Excitech cnc Routers.... Ripper Machines!

G`day rocabig and SyS-e, We purchased our sh-cnc Excitech machine late last year after reading reviews from forum members Esmae and Jimmy 007.
Our impressions of the machine so far - It is a very sturdy machine and operates extremely well. We have had a couple of very minor issues such as the feet on the machine had come loose during shipping which damaged the threads. The DSP controller connection is a very poor fit into the socket on the control box. It will not clip in firmly so you will need to fit some sort of retaining device. I suggest that you do this immediately upon receiving your machine - otherwise you will damage the pins like we did. The only other concern is the fact that the vacuum pump which is very heavy was put on top of the machines table for shipping. We believe that this caused a 2mm dip in the table. Not a big deal as we will machine our spoilboard flat.
These machines are fantastic value for money. We are not concerned about the abovementioned issues and would not hesitate to buy another Excitech. We have had outstanding service from sh-cnc, and in particular Taney in their international division.
Forum members involved in the thread " Excitech cnc Router Purchase "
who already own these machines have given us tremendous assistance in getting our machine up and running.
Our only concern is that in the ( hopefully ) unlikely event that something does go wrong with the machine - can we find a local tech to fix it?
rocabig - This is where i feel that you have done very well in buying through the agent SyS-e.
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Excitech club.
What about software? If you are new to cad/cam i would suggest you buy V Carve Pro. We are using this exclusively with our machine and find it easy to use, and the support on the vectric forum is great.

    Rocket.
