Hi guys
anyone knows if we can some how use the tool eye on a program.
Basicaly when operators change the inserts run a program so all the tool can automatically fine tune the wear offset so we can reduce the scrap.
Thanks:rainfro:

Yes..... but need to know more info. What machine, control, tool eye unit and software? Also, the tool eye needs to be in very good shape, repeatable and accurately calibrated. And, using G code or something else?
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....
it`s 640 nexus lathe and programing on eso not the mazatrol programming.
thanks
Haven't done it on a Nexus lathe. But if you have the EIA programming book, look up G36(G36.5) and G37(G37.5) in it. It describes the command and inputs for measuring/tool break checks.

i have programming manual for EIA/ISO for turning machine mazatrol matrix nexus but there is not G36(36.5) or G37(37.5)
how the format of programming
You're probably right. If you ask the question at IntegrexMachinist you should get an answer quick.... I'd have to do some digging...

G136 / G137 is the code for macro-mesure call in EIA/ISO.
But you must write your own macro programm if you don't buy option.
Use "tool mesure" of mazatrol unit is more simple . just call a mazatrol subprogramm from your main ..
