    Cat 40 tooling

Looking for recommendations for Cat 40 tool holders for a Haas TM-1 mill. They need to accept "double end" end mills.

Is there a certain style that we need to order that are bored/ground deep enough to handle the extra length of a double end mill. What do you use?

    Thanks

Check out Parlec. They make single end and double enders.

    I second that.

All the holders they sell are bored all the way through.

Wow, they have some amazing prices on those holders! Balanced to 15K RPM and fifty-ish dollars? That's a good resource.

I'm curious why the 'double-ended' end mills though. What's the advantage? I don't see a whole bunch of cost advantage.

I buy my general use stuff from Enco. Double-ended Atrax carbide 1/2" 2 flute cost just about double the price of a single-ended mill. What am I missing?

    I third maritool

I bought a cat 40 test bar from Frank. Went to pick it up and gave me the grand tour of the shop. Nice guy to deal with.
