I'd like to take a 2D drawing from AutoCAD and use it for a sketch in a part file in Inventor. Is there a way to do this? Whenever I try to import it to Inventor it just opens up as a drawing.

open the 2D autocad drawing,
select all the entities you want to copy,
use "Edit...Copy With Basepoint" select a basepoint
Then in the inventor sketch environment simply "paste"
Be aware that none of the constraints will come over with the 2d info however.
If you need 3D in inventor, maybe you can extrude or rotate the 2D shape, then cut and paste, using Copy with basepoint to get it into Inventor.
