    O M controller

does anybody know, if it is possible to replace old OM-C controller(1996) with new OM controller with the same motors and drivers. I have AC motors with red deck. Old OM does not have enough memory and also no DNC connection.

The OM-C controller could run in DNC mode through the serial port. On most machines, there is a setting bit or a PMC parameter that you can set to put the control into DNC mode. Have you contacted the machine tool builder and asked about this? (Not Fanuc, but the machine builder. They're the ones who wrote the PMC latter logic)

If you can display the ladder on your CRT, look for an output called "DNCI". That may give you some info on how to turn it on.

I asked for that option, but my ctr does not have DNC mode. They want cca. 6K € only for material to arrange this. They have to change BUS plate and a few other things, but I still have old ctr with low memory. I can send programs from PC, but the memory is to small for 3D milling. Maybe it is problem becouse I have all macros writen in memory, and they spend half of them. I have only 63000b free mem.
