Believe it or not, if have an Anilam Crusader M on a Supermax knee mill, and it runs fine.
I had to re-seat all the ICs that were in sockets on the boards and that got it going.
I want to run it and have learned how to program it.
But, the manual says little about using the tape drive for program storage.
My drive had rotted belts, so I replaced those with o-rings.
When I start the record sequence I don't know if it rewinds the tape first and then starts recording.
Or, maybe it assumes the tape is rewound and just starts recording where ever it is on the tape.
When I tried to store a program the tape spindle on the right started turning clockwise, which seems backwards.
I believe a rewound tape will have to tape stored on the right side (with recording head at the bottom).
So, clockwise unwinds the tape, which is disastrous.
If any of you are still running one of these, I sure would appreciate if you could tell me what it normally should do.
Of course, I know the RS232 is the way to go. I am working on getting that set up.
But I want to be able to enter simple programs directly as well.
