Shuttle Jogger
I really like the action of the encoders in the Contour ShuttleXpress used by Tormach. Having the outer ring provides an analog speed control for fast jogging and an inner encoder for step jogging. I much prefer this over a standard MPG encoder.
The issue with the ShuttleXpress is the form factor. It’s not that suitable for a CNC pendant.
Initially I transplanted the brains of the ShuttleXpress into a handheld enclosure (orange pendant).
I then decided to design and build one from scratch. It’s all self contained and built into the 60mm Shuttle Jogger.
It’s suitable for mounting into a CNC panel or into a pendant enclosure as a drop in replacement as the mounting is the same as a standard 60 MPG dial.
Cheers
