Re: Need help with cutting insets in spacers for o-rings

    Hi,
to be honest those Y5V caps are a bit suspect. They lose about 80% of their capacitance at only 40% of rated voltage, and down to about 5%-10% capacitance at 100% rated voltage. Pretty poor.

I linked to some Y6P capacitors earlier. They have 40%-50% of the rated capacitance at 100% rated voltage and 85% of rated capacitance at 40% of rated voltage. $2.95USD each at 10 off quantities.

Re: Need help with cutting insets in spacers for o-rings

Back in "the day" when a hand chucker was an art form, I commonly made pressure test fixtures that required ID grooving. Mostly out of nylon or alum. After a thru bore dia was done I would cut an id gr using a single depth of cut theory. An air hose would keep it cool and the high speed tool also. Well stacking spacers could be done easily enough on a hand lathe. Not sure this helps but if there's nothing better than having a lathe handy.
