I have received this machine and I want to try and get it running.
At present, I used a under powered adapter and the Power goes on and the lights turn on.
When I press VIEW, it moves the plotter back and forth including the base plate.
Pressing up and down does nothing.
Is there a reset switch or a diagnostic mode I can go into to check if it is working properly for the motors?

so have you downloaded the manual? It rather looks like its restricted to early version Windows, say Windows XP?

I can get a machine running with XP, that is no problem - I will need to source a parallel/series port though. Anything I should look for in a serial port card?
Also, I need to get a proper AC adapter for it. Right now I am using a 9V 600mA adapter I found - which I think is underpowered for the unit

I got it to work with an adapter and a serial port. I just need to know how to test it to make sure it is running properly. I would like to engrave something small, even if I don't put any wood in it, just watch to make sure it is running properly. Anyone have a tutorial on how to get started engraving? or even a project file, for something really small I can test?
