I'm totally new to all this and I am in the process of making a CNC router. I've purchased the plans for the machine part but I'm starting from scratch on the electric part of the project. I'm looking at these stepper motors and drivers. I would like opinions on these selections, also can anybody suggest
a breakout board? Can this be run with Mach3. I want to use solidcam to program, but I don't think there is a post processor in Mach. I'm open to all suggestions. Here is the driver and motor site.

Before spending that much money on a drive, look at www.geckodrives.com. A G201 will out perform the drive you pointed to for less money. The G203V will significantly out perform for the same money. if your running an older computer, you might need to go to a G210 that you can set step rates lower than 10 microsteps.

As for the motor, that motor is a good motor. For the same price you can get a KL23H276-30-8B which is a dual shafted motor, and will give you a better high speed performance wired bipolar parallel.

FYI, I'm not affiliated with Gecko in any way. Just want to see users get the best for their money.
