    TAIG Mini Lathe CNC conversion

    Hi,

I can not find any TAIG Mini Lathe CNC conversion kits on the Internet. Is there a "pain free" CNC converion path for this lathe?

    regards,
    dejan

    Hey bro,

You accidentally posted your thread one higher than you meant too and probably won't get many responses... You clicked on Milltronics instead of 'mini lathe' but they are right next to each other so don't feel bad... Good luck getting your info!!

That lathe is a PITA to cnc... I had one for awhile and I CNC'd the long axis... but could not come up with a good method to do the cross slide. All the parts are way small. Not much room to add leadscrews and steppers. And with no Variable speed on the motor, you can just about forget threading. Better lathes to convert out there.
