    Parallel Cable Length

What is the longest I can have a parallel cable without having problems or lost signal? Tigerdirect has a 30 foot parallel cable. I'm using the stepper drivers from Keling and a breakout board from CNC 4 PC.

They make the cables up to 50 feet. I get missed steps after 18feet when doing finer work. Keep it as short as you can.

One of my glass scales on my bridgeport DROs just went dead and the DRO itself never was that good. So instead of ungrading to a new DRO I might just turn my mill into a CNC and use the computer and Servo encoders as my new DRO. So that being said I just welded together a computer station on wheels so I can move it from CNC station to CNC station, which solves my parallel cable problem. But thanks for the response, so I know if I ever need to extend it.
