    Milltronics TL14 Lathe Spindle bearings

I have a 2008 TL14 lathe and the spindle bearings went out. I have replaced them but something isn't right. I have attached a drawing of the assembly on page 23. It doesn't show the directions that the bearings go in to set the load. There are 3 bearing, 2 right at the spindle and one behind the spacer. I feel like they should be under load when taking a cut on the lathe but I could use some help with this. I spoke with Milltronics and they said they should all be facing the center.

Re: Milltronics TL14 Lathe Spindle bearings

the larger face on the inner races will be toward the outside, the larger faces of the outer rases will be toward the inside. The type and amount of grease you put between the balls is absolutely critical. Too much is worse than not enough. Break them in and check for heat throughout the process. Also, there should be an asterisk on the inner and outer races, they should all be aligned during installation. the left-hand bearing is only to maintain pre-load, do not overload it.
