    Need help finding servo controllers

I have searched to no avail, and cannot find a controller that fits my needs.

I have a Mitek VBM-50 Bed Mill that I would like to retrofit from the current Acramatic 2100 to a more updated solution.

The only problem I am having is finding servo controllers.

I need controllers rated for 12.9 amp continuous / 23 amp peak and 180VDC that can be controlled by a step/direction signal. All of the controllers I have looked at that take step/direction commands won't handle the voltage or current necessary...

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    More updated than the A2100?

I have 3 A2100 powered lathes and they are great. I wish they still made them.
I also have 1 machine that is running Mach 3 and servos.
I would expect that if you complete the project, you would not consider it an update. Just my opinion.
Mach 3 is awesome. It is definately more versatile than most commercial controls, but it can't compete on the performance side yet. Hopefully in the future.
If you do gut the A2100 please send me an e-mail, [email protected]
I would be interested in the whole system, if the price is reasonable.
    Thanks,
    Kent

    Hi,
I am in the process of upgrading my Boxford ACL cnc lathe

    which has
2 OFF SEM servo motors model No. MT30E4-52 info at
    http://www.sem.co.uk/files/brochure/MT30E4.pdf
with old Norwin drives info at www.norwin.co.uk
I will be running it from a PC with Mach 3 software through

the printer port as the old ANC control has expired.
I have 4 machines for upgrade and need at least one up and

    running ASAP.
can you please advise and a price and delivery to
    Dundee Scotland
    Best regards

You could run those motors with the BSD810A driver.
You can buy them from MCP Ltd

My Viper 200 could drive that motor. I can make it run 180 volts by changing a few parts.

Brian, did you ever get that lathe running?

    Hello,
I was just wondering if you retrofitted your Mitek mill and if so, do you still have the 2100 components? I'd be interested in some of them.
