First of all.. I'm a noob so plz go slow!
since thats out of the way, I just purchased a older Webb 3-axis cnc knee-mill and cad/cam set up. The machine is equipped with a Fanuc OM controller (1987) with internal memory (a whopping 48k) but it does have the RS-232 port to connect to the PC for a code drip feed.
This is my first machine, so naturally I have some questions on how certain things work together between the hard controller and cam software. In particular, How does the relationship between the tool table offsets in the controller and the tool library in the cam software work together. To a novice like me, it seems like theres two things doing the same job, but I'm sure thats not right. can somebody please clear the fog?
Also, does anybody know where to find good documentation for my specific controller? Like a users manual or something on basic controller operation "how to set zeros, tool tables, offsets, configure the 232 input from the PC, etc" Any advice is appreciated, Thanks
