    Dear abbe,

    Good job!

One thing that you may need to do is to make the heatsinking of the L298s a bit more substantial if you are putting a lot of current through them, even though you seem to be using a fan on the aluminium angle. Angle has a whole lot less capacity as a heatsink compared to finned , purpose-designed, products

    Just a thought.

    Best wishes,

    Martin

Hi, if use a unbipolar stepper motor,
I suppose that L297+sla7026 will be a good combination, not only the current will be 3A,also the diode can be integration in the IC,which can save space.:rainfro:

All those SLA chips are very hard to find.
i tried for SLA7078 and 7062 for months.but failed.so i moved to Linistepper, which worked like charm.(still i liked SLA chips,as they are all in one controllers)

L297+L298 combo is good.but it lack of micro stepping.and it makes the stepper hot too.i tried and build this combo already.but it didn't gave me as much satisfaction as linistepper did.
iam quite interested in SLA chips but as i said before they are almost impossible for me to find.is it possible to get some samples? can any one guide me here?
