    Backing up Fanuc 11 parameters.

We have a Mori Seiki VMC with a Fanuc 11m controller. After alot of digging through the forums and some help from the members we got it drip feeding successfully and running sweet . But i'd like to backup all the parameters just in case. Is there a way to punch these out to the attached laptop and if yes then how? (two way communication has been established) Or must I write them down by hand?

just plug in your laptop, set to recieve, get the parameter(any page) screen up on the control, hit the right (shift) softkey until a softkey tagged 'punch' is displayed, hit that, then 'all'... thats it

think this is the first time ive seen someone ask how to backup BEFORE the memory got lost Your boss should thank you greatly!

be sure to go to the nc/pc side and write down any and all of the timer/counter/keep/data table info too- note on the first page of 'data', theres not much there, be sure to page thru it(dont recall, you may need to highlight the table with the cursor arrows and hit enter first?).
the PMC data can be MUCH harder to figure out than the parameters if the memory is ever lost, I dont think there is a way to punch it out (if there is, I'm all ears!)

Nope. This series has to be written down. They do not punch out via RS232.

I have attached a blank PMC data form that I like to use to make sure that I have gathered all the correct data and it keeps it a bit more organized.

    Stevo1-
well isnt that handy, I'll be printing out a few of those to keep in my toolbox tomorrow

on the topic of keep relays(sorry for off topic), could you run over what bits in k17 do what? I know k17.7 allows temporary(not saveable) ladder editing on some 15s, and had to play around with others to load ladder to ram on a 18b, but was unsure if 17.7 allowed editing on a 10/11 without a ramcard mounted...Ive still got a 11ramcard, but kinda hate using it- somehow I always forget to flip that darn switch off first and 'poof' its gone...thanks for any insight

the explanation of K17 and a lot of other related stuff is fully detailed in the Ladder Programming Manual B–61863E (total 1155 pages). pages 429 & 430 have the K17 bit details.
you can find it with a google search 'GFZ-61863E/12'
