Wow,
I just found you guys. I have been researching for the local High School whether it is possible to upgrade their PC Mill 50 and their Emco Compact 5 CNC Lathe. Both appear to work as delivered 15 years ago. The Mill appears to be the better candidate since it is PC based. So far I have found a dedicated interface card in an old PC that appears to exchange data with the Mills controller using a serial interface. I use Mach 3 at home (on my Taig Mill) and was hoping to be able to use it at school since its user interface is very graphical as well as instructional. Unfortunately Mach does not use a serial interface.
Sorry for the rambling. I guess what I would be interested in finding is what upgrades (software/computer) folks use that is easier and more modern than what was delivered with the system 15 years ago.

Another question I have is that the GE Fanuc Series 0 controller I receive did not come with the power supply. Can someone please forward me the voltage and polarity of that power supply?
